Laptop Repair Isn't Usually A Hazardous Task...

by George Lovell | | 0 comments

But this MacBook battery is mega swollen and heavily glued down 🙄

Had to take our time with this one 😅

Lithium-ion batteries generate power through a chemical reaction. As the chemicals degrade, gas builds up, which punctures the internal membrane.

This can also occur through damage or defect.

Batteries can swell and begin to push the screen and/or back panel out of the housing/frame. If you notice that part of your device is separating, and this coincides with a significant decline in battery life, then your battery might be swelling.

Lithium batteries are hazardous. If you suspect that your battery is swelling, get it removed or replaced.
