We See A Lot Of The Samsung Galaxy A Series These Days

by George Lovell | | 0 comments

Including this A21s.

Five Samsung devices were in the global top 10 smartphones based on sales volume for late 2020 - Galaxy A21s, Galaxy A11, Galaxy A51, Galaxy A31 and Galaxy A01 Core.

The A series is a mid-range line, that replaced the budget J series, as Samsung targets various regional markets with a huge range of mid-spec, good value devices.

We keep Samsung A screens in stock. Repairs 👉 https://talkbackcomms.com/collections/samsung-repairs

Working On A Samsung Z Flip 5G...

by George Lovell | | 0 comments

Very fresh design. We like to see something unique that stands out. No doubt we'll start seeing more folding phones in 2021 ✨

The only question mark is over durability. Moving parts on small consumer electronics is a pretty new thing. The hinges should be good for at least 200,000 folds, but how will it hold up with rigorous daily use..?🤔

Is The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G A Good Phone?

by George Lovell | | 0 comments

Impressive specs on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G - 16GB RAM, 5000mAh battery, and 108MP/40MP rear front cameras 😳

The 6.8" infinity-o display looks incredible and futuristic 👏

Unfortunately, it looks like the SD card slot and headphone jack really are on their way out for good 👎

The hole-punch front camera and raised camera bezel continues to be the predominant design choice for flagship smartphones. It still looks and feels a bit awkward, so there's still some work to do.

We're optimistic about more appealing design trends over the next few years.

The premium range of Samsung's asks a truly premium price these days - up to £1329.00.

We actually like this because it allows for manufacturers to show off and release their best possible, most advanced consumer electronics; which is exciting for the tech industry and really pushes innovation.

It's also enabled the recent emergence and growth of the upper-mid-range devices - which have all the capabilities that 99% of users could ever need or want, at a much more affordable price, e.g. the standard Galaxy S21 5G, which is £769.00. We need the cutting-edge, expensive tech to push boundaries in order to keep improving our every-day consumer tech.

Backup, Backup 🕺

by George Lovell | | 0 comments

Breaking the bad news to our customers, when their device is:

> Liquid damaged beyond repair

> Lost or stolen

> Pass code forgotten

... And their data isn't retrievable 😭

Phones are replaceable, your photos and notes are not!

In 2021, there is no excuse for not having your data backed up.

Gone are the days of having to manually backup to external hard drives.

Modern smart devices have a ton of options for automatic backups, which will backup your data daily.

Problem is, auto backup is often turned off, or has failed due to an issue with the account.

It's vital to check that your devices are completing regular backups.

This will be the most boring and important 5 minutes of your day.

We recommend the following backup services:

> iCloud for Apple

> Samsung Cloud for Samsung

> Huawei Cloud for Huawei

> OneDrive for Microsoft

> Google Drive for WhatsApp & Photo backups

Eat your vegetables, and do your backups 👊

What Is Right To Repair?

by George Lovell | | 0 comments

The right to repair is a critical movement for our industry.

If you've ever had your phone, tablet or computer repaired, this affects you.

Electronics manufacturers are making it increasingly difficult for their products to be repaired by serializing parts to make components irreplaceable.

Thus, when a part fails, the consumer is left with no choice but to pay an extortionate fee to the manufacturer for repair, or to buy a brand new device.

What should be a £30.00 - £60.00 repair, is more often becoming a ~£1000 new phone.

The end result is shorter product life-cycles, which means greater cost to the consumer, massive environmental damage & e-waste, and increased gains to large corporations at the expense of small businesses and the repair industry.

Would you buy a car if you couldn't replace the tyres?

We must protect our consumers rights - If you cannot choose to repair something that you have bought; you do not own it; you are renting it until it breaks.

Sign this petition to require mobile phones sold in the UK to be repairable by consumers.
