Those fortunate enough to own an iPhone X, or a newer model, may have been unfortunate enough to discover the significantly increased cost in getting the screen replaced compared to previous models.
This is because Apple switched to using LED (Light Emitting Diode) screens; clusters of red, green and blue diodes that form to create a pixel. These can be individually switched on or off to create a display.
Whilst other popular brands such as Samsung and have been using LEDs (and more recently dynamic AMOLED screens) for some time, the LCD screen will soon be a thing of the past as LED becomes the industry standard. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens use a backlight to illuminate a panel of tiny crystals, which sit between polarising glass filters. The crystals rotate to allow or block light from travelling through, which creates a specific colour.
LED screens are more energy-efficient, lighter and give a better quality display. However, they are significantly more expensive to manufacture.

11/11/1918❤️ Poppies grew in many of the fields in Flanders, Belgium where battles took place in World War I. The red colour of the poppies symbolises the blood spilled in the war.

One of my favourite things to do ❤️ We collect money for and donate to Great Ormand Street Hospital, an infamous paediatric treatment and research centre in central London. Since its formation in 1852, the hospital has been dedicated to children’s healthcare and to finding new and better ways to treat childhood illnesses. Children that are diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness are often referred to Great Ormand Street Hospital for care.
Instead of charging our local customers for assistance and advice, we ask that they instead make a donation to the Great Ormand Street Hospital, and have a collection pot which we try to fill as often as possible! It is our aim to raise £1000 for the charity in-store, in hope that we can do our bit for those that need it most.
Thanks to all of our customers that have donated recently.
Find out more about the organisation and/or donate here: https://www.gosh.nhs.uk/ Have a great weekend!

Screens emit blue light. Exposure to this kind of light in the evening decreases melatonin production, which is the hormone responsible for initiating sleep.
Light filter apps reduce blue light exposure by making the display a warmer, more yellow-looking colour. Most devices have a built-in light filter program. For Apple devices, search for "Night Shift" For Android devices, search for "Blue Light Filter" or "Night Mode" For Windows devices, search for "Night Light"
Schedule the light filter on your phone, tablet and laptop to turn on a couple of hours before you hit the hay, and experience the many benefits of increased sleep quality 😴 and reduced eye strain 👀
